Definitely one of, if not the, most idiosyncratic piece of military clothing. Used in the early part of the 1950s, these would have been given to groundcrew to help them guide and marshal aircraft around an airbase. Made of highly visible orange and black patterned nylon, these would have been distinct at some distance, and I even have photos of these being used by USAF mountain rescue for their high vis characteristics.
Condition
This is in amazing condition. It looks largely unused, however there are some markings on one sleeve from what appears to be some kind of large patch, and one very small and practically invisible repair near a cuff. Overall an amazing example.
