I have to be honest, before I found this, I didn't even know this piece existed, I've never seen or heard of one, it's honestly that scarce! Seemingly created as part of the same experimental program as the X-51 parka, and very similar in appearance, this is actually a completely separate garment. Made using a similar construction of a three piece set composed of a nylon shell, removable nylon hood and a fleece liner, it's shorter in length that its brother, dispensing with the lower set of pockets. The hood is also different, with a button-off outer layer, and a thinner inner hood that rolls up behind the jacket collar. These aren't well documented, so I don't have much history on it, but an outstanding piece of experimental military clothing of almost unique rarity.
Condition
Perfect, the shell and hood are deadstock, though the hood is losing a little of the fur. The liner has been washed but again excellent condition.
